If you are going to take up kickboxing, you might be a little bit worried about not being nearly prepared enough. It’s normal to worry though you shouldn’t have to in this instance. A first lesson is just what it seems. It’s a chance to learn what it takes to get into kickboxing. With that in mind, you don’t need to have a lot of expertise or training to get involved at this level. Your instructor will help you through the basics, and you will be on your way to expert status within no time. There are some things you can do to prepare yourself, though.

All of the basics that you need should revolve around fitness levels. If you are going to perform at a high level, you have to be in good shape. The moves and techniques that you will be asked to perform are difficult and require much stamina. You should work on your lower body fitness in order to get the most out of your lessons. Certain types of exercises can prepare you, including dancing and zumba classes. Likewise, you will need flexibility in order to execute the high-level kicks. Preparing your body is the best way to get the most out of your first lesson.

The history of kickboxing is different depending upon which country of origin you examine. Kickboxing in Thailand starts several hundred years ago with the development of Muay Thai. In France, the self-defense art of Savate became a ring sport well over 100 years ago. Japan also has its own unique history and its ow equally unique kickboxing circuit.

The history of kickboxing most are familiar with would be the one that emerged in the United States in the 1970′s. Actually, the origin has its roots in the prior decade when tournament karate was popular. The early karate fighter did not have hand techniques as sophisticated as boxing. In time, those with boxing backgrounds that entered karate tournaments did very well. Eventually, more and more karate fighters began to learn boxing.

This led to a new sport that was different from tournament karate. Called full contact karate, matches were help in a ring and with boxing gloves. Gone was the karate uniform and it was replaced with the full contact pants.

These events were nicknamed kickboxing and the nickname eventually replaced the term full contact. To cash in on the martial arts movie craze of the 1970′s kickboxing events aired on television to huge audiences. It was also a major arena draw. In the 1980′s, the popularity of the sport cooled, but it is experiencing a resurgence now thanks to the popularity of MMA which integrates kickboxing training.

Kickboxing has become one of the greatest sports in the world over the past few decades. Ever since the beginning of kickboxing in the United States in the 1970s, the sport has grown more and more. Today kickboxing is huge with the crowds that love combat sports. One of the reasons why kickboxing is viewed as one of the greatest sports currently is because some people cannot stand watching the ground game of grappling in MMA and cannot stand watching the limitations of boxing.I found some more information <a href='http://www.avclub.com/articles/jeanclaude-van-dammes-kickboxer-hold-everything-bu,73727/ ‘>here. There are a few people that are to thank especially for the evolution of the recognition of kickboxing in common society. One of the main reasons why kickboxing grew in popularity was Jean Claude Van Damme. In the years of 1988 and 1989 Van Damme put out two movies that can still be cited today as the most popular kickboxing movies no matter how cheesy the movies were or how bad the acting was in them. These movies of course would be Kickboxer in 1988 and Bloodsport in 1989. Both of which put emphasis on kickboxing styles and featured different styles of kickboxing include the heavy handed style of the dreaded Chong Li.

If you’re thinking about getting into it, here are a few suggestions to get you rolling
Get a trainer: Hire someone who specifically works with kickboxers as they’ll know exactly how to assess your needs and get you up and running. Once you learn the basics you can work more on your own.
Go to classes: Many reputable gyms have begun offering kickboxing classes at a reasonable rate and though they won’t get you ready for the ring they’ll help you learn some great basics that will get you ready for some REAL training if you choose to actually pursue the sport.
Cardio: Any good kickboxer will tell you the only thing you need to truly master before you get in the ring is good cardio skills. You’ve got to have stamina and endurance to stand up to any real opponent and that starts with time on the treadmill.

Self-defense is an important skill to have. Crime rates are high everywhere and one never knows whether he or she will be a victim or not. One of the benefits of kickboxing is that it teaches people moves that can help people defend themselves should the need arise. If a person has kickboxing skills, he or she can walk down the street without worrying about getting attacked.

People are constantly looking for new ways to get into shape. Kickboxing can help a person reach his or her fitness goals fast because it is a cardio workout. Cardio workouts help the body burn fat. Kickboxing differs from many other cardiovascular workouts because it works the upper and lower body simultaneously.

Kickboxing also helps people enjoy themselves while working out. Many people see working out as a chore, but it should be seen as a fun way to stay healthy. Kickboxing is a great way to have fun while getting in shape. Additionally, kickboxing also helps improve a person’s confidence. Many people are concerned about the way that their bodies look and this sport can promote a healthy body image. A person’s confidence level will also increase if he or she knows how to defend against an attack.

When it comes to physical activities especially the realm of kickboxing, it’s very easy to have distrust because of the way our bodies move and it’s a harmful sport. Having the right kind of train will help you push past your limits. If you start training with someone you don’t know, you’ll hold back for one and also you’ll be more sustainable to injuries. This greatly limits your training because you cannot attack full force, and you’ll always have to second guess yourself. With a sport as brutal as kickboxing, it’s not beneficial to take it so easy. Having the right trainer will know how you move, give you advice to better your movement when you are setting up your kicks, your punches, and elbows. This is the type of guidance you need to help you get better in the long term as well as prevent injuries from occurring so you are able to train longer. Another reason why having a trainer you trust makes a difference is because you can turn your trainer into a friend. It’s not all business and you appreciate the advice more as you both learn more about each other’s movements helping you succeed more in kickboxing.

You can find a reputable kickboxing school in many different ways. The first method is by word of mouth. If you know somebody who is attending kickboxing classes, simply ask them how they like the classes and then go to a class to see for yourself. By using the recommendation of someone you trust, you are decreasing the possibility of attending a poor kickboxing school. Additionally, by trying it out for yourself, you are able to trust your own instincts on whether the school is good or not.

Another method for finding a kickboxing school is by surfing the internet. Thishelps explain it more. When you get a list of different kickboxing schools, you can compare and contrast each school until you figure out which one is best for you. You will also be able to read user reviews to specifically identify the strengths and weaknesses of each school.

Lastly, you should take lessons at the school that you rated highest. If you do not like the school, you can always switch to the next one on your list. By performing these steps, you will find a reputable kickboxing school easily. When you start attending classes, you will be able to identify which schools are good and which ones aren’t.
